Website design, Responsive layout, UX design, E-commerce
Edge clothing is an Australian company selling multi brand wear and clothing. Edge clothing gave Bolmar the task to create a special web design for their existing website, as well as making it responsive. To achieve this, we completely reinvented our customer’s web style, making it fresh and stylish.
We created up to 10 different mockups for the main page design, before finding what we believed was the best choice for our client.
The category page, and all secondary pages, use a grid structure that enables a responsive and fluid layout. By adding black tones we created accents, and gave the collection and product photos a solid and clean background. In addition to this, we chose to use a footer design with big infographics and icons, to give it that modern look.
The category page is minimalistic and clean, the filters were designed using AJAX technology to refresh the products without any page reload.
We created over 20 pages during the design development stage, including 3 variations of each page (i.e., a desktop, tablet and mobile view). Before starting with the front-end design we did UX research and an analysis of the competition.
All dropdowns are frameless designs, so the layers are only divided by big and flat shadows. Our use of simplicity and modern web design techniques ultimately led to a satisfied client and a brand new web style for Edge clothing.
The responsive layout of the Edge clothing website makes it possible to display the website on all types of devices. We always include a responsive layout when developing any e-commerce website.
The mobile website layout has a simplified UI. This means that only the main structural components and elements remain. All filters, and additional bits of design are transformed into mini icons and dropdowns. Our web design helped Edge clothing to increase their online sales by up to 40%.
